Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I was wondering what the depth of a typical engraving is? Is it deep enough to pull letters off if resin or a casting material is poured on it? Thanks in advance for your help! -Grant |

| Grant, If you are using a spindle and the letters are big enough to be able to use a flat bottomed endmill style cutter then you could achieve excellent results with casting letters. However; The typical engraving points only have a 0.004" flat on the bottom so the surface finish on any letters cast this way would be ridged. Lasers also have a typical spot size around 0.004" and again ridges would be present on the casting unless the laser could be accurately set (perhaps out of focus) and the speed kept at a constant velocity to preserve depth. Tweakie.
