Hello. I have been doing a lot of research. I am in between laser engraver (yes a chinese one on eBay) or a CNC 3020 on eBay. All I am looking for is to be able to engrave cutting boards and engrave anodized dog tags. I know lasers are more create image and print and the cnc may have more work into it. What would you recommend. I know the engraving space is very limited in the laser machines but I have saw some modification that will help with that. Can a CNC engrave small text on an object? It would be more "etching" then engraving on the dog tags. Cutting boards I know lasers will put the darken color I am looking for in the wood. Is there a way to make this effect with a CNC machine? I saw where they use masking. I have a vinyl machine I make stencils and paint the text and pull off the vinyl for the projects i do now and looks good but I would like to be able to give a better look. Not looking to mill parts or anything like that.
