Hi, I have been using fatcow.com as my hosting service for both email and web site hosting. As a practical matter, my primary use has been email.
Fatcow has changed and is not able to deal with my email storage needs, so I have outsourced this to a dedicated, professional email provider. ( I guess 4 people was too much for their servers) ( If you want to hear a horror story about email support, I can tell you one. )
Now I need a place to host my very simple web site. It is no frills, simple, about 6 - 8 pages, very light graphics, not that commonly visited, etc. Really more of a simple brochure.
Frankly, I am hoping to spend about $ 25 - 30 / year. All of the DNS pointer stuff can be done by the email firm, I just need someone with a fixed IP adr and desktop hooked to it to make this work.
I know - not exactly a big order, but maybe useful for someone with a fixed IP adr.
Web site reliability is not a major concern for this application - the email was, and this is covered.
Thanks
HarryN
