I am looking for a quote on making an expanding mandrel simlar to shown above. I would just need it straight, without the morse taper or the ridge shown. Basically I would like a 5" piece of steel knurled, slit multiple times, and tapped for the pipe plug on the end to fit a 5/8" bore. It will be held in a collet chuck and used to hold a piece of wood for turning on a wood lathe. I am currently checking on the minimum number of pieces, but I believe that it will be a small order. Possibly 10 with more to follow. It all depends on the final price. Perfect project for the small home machinist. If you were local it would be even nicer, but not necessary. Send me a private message or an email through the forum with your pricing. |
