World famous Channel Islands Surfboards is looking for a CNC Operator for our wholesale factory location in Carpinteria, CA. This person will operate our 5 or 3 axis CNC machine that produces milled foam boards in order to meet our production schedule. The Machinist will also be responsible for simple programming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•Operate CNC mills.
•Verify conformance of production parts to specifications
•Meet Production Schedule requirements
•Maintain machine consumable supplies and tools as necessary. Install parts and adhere to Preventative Maintenance schedule. Keep work area clean and adhere to established safety practices.
•Adhere to Quality Assurance processes
•Identify and report material irregularities to Materials/Production Supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a similar position
•Must be familiar with common G-code
•Must be familiar with CAD/CAM software and common measurement practices
•Degree in Engineering or Machine shop experience is a plus
•Experience with “MAXSURF” or “Shape3D” software is a plus
•Knowledge of surfboard construction is a plus
