Search this board, and or RFQWORK.COM I think there is a current or past thread. Just Google their name. You will hear NOTHING good about them. DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY. You will pay $5,000 a year, quote 1,000s of job and get NONE. Fortunately I read all the bad press and never even thought of joining, they aren't worth $20 a month, let alone $500. They are taking advantage of desperate people in desperate times, pretty pathetic.

I've heard much the same. The cost does not warrant the service. I've worked with a company who has used their service, and has yet to receive a job from the site. I've even called and tried to make contact with some of the so called customers, and never was able to talk directly with the people. I'd say hold off. My opinion!

I have to agree with Dualkit. MFGQuote.Com is a waste of time and money. Your better off hiring an Agent to find you work and pay them a percentage for jobs won.

I use MFG ! or more appropriately they use me for financing. I made the big mistake of going for two yr. for less monthly $. The jobs are onezee twozee for the most part and no money in them. I saw no jobs worth my effort for quite a while. Since my busyness is dying from cradle death syndrome, I called them and said I'm broke, they said that is ok we'll just send it to a collection agency !

Sorry man, seems like the people who can least afford to get sucked in by these
con men are the ones that do. These people are preying on people exhausting their last resources to try to survive in very bad business climate for manufacturing. I am pretty sure they have signed up a lot of global suppliers and if all the RFQ generator cares about is price no one in a non third world country can compete. All people can do is keep spreading the bad press, hopefully your post can save the next guy.

    Hey Thanks guys and gals

I had kinda thought as much. We are looking to expand our workshop and are investigating ways to lift our work load to justify another machine.

It always seems dubious when you can't actually look at the main page and make an informed decision without first stumping up the cash. By my thoughts putting up $6k usd we have to get a ROI of about $5-$8k per month to cover costs. It sounds like even if you do win rfq's from the site we wouldn't get any where near those values.

    Thanks again

    Russell

    P.S.

any of you guys come down to Auckland in Little ol' NZ PM me and we can go for a beer and talk crap.

It's a pretty sad thing to do to companies trying to get by week to week.

Great news! We need to keep this thread active, maybe they will either go under, or have to change their business model to actually provide a decent service. A similar site ( RFQ Connection ) never got off the ground and went under due to bad press. They tried to get a $2,000 survey fee plus 3%, they
had claims and testimonials on their site that they worked with NASA, Boeing,
etc. All 100% false, the internet brought them down.

One thing to consider is that companies can write just about anything on a website. It is the old "Bate and Switch" ploy that lures people into a con.

Pyramid schemes are everywhere so beware that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is a scam.
