I am familiar with the Nakamura-Tome TW10 with twin Fanuc Controls, Live tooling and Bar Feed.

Nice machines but too many shops like the Old School, so I usually get stuck doing just Milling or Turning, never both the way I prefer.

the super NTY3 and the NZ series both utilize Fanuc controllers - the NZ uses the 31i with 3 head control. It's basically 3 controls wrapped into one. You have 3 programmable turrets, T1 and T3 can only work on the left and right spindles respectively while T2 (lower turret) can work on either/or. All 3 turrets have Y axis and C axis control with full milling capability.

Toby, you're on long island? how far are you from the westbury area? I know a few places in the area that have mill/turn and live tooled lathes... not sure if they're hiring at the moment, though.

My specialty is multi-axis turning and 5 axis milling. I was one of only a few Mazak Integrex programmers in the early 2000's (2001-ish) and when I worked for Mori Seiki, I was considered "the best" in the company. I still get phone calls and emails asking me questions and I haven't worked there in 2 months lol. Now i'm doing consulting work and independent contracting all over the country... still waiting to finalize some projects but the ones I have are keeping me busy for now. I have a month and a half backlog - i'm hoping to keep a 2-3 month backlog so I know I can pay my mortgage for a while lol.
