CNC Supervisor 1st Shift
Location: Poway, CA 92064
Salary: up to $33/hr

Position Summary:
 Challenging 1st shift career opportunity position for a seasoned CNC Supervisor.
 Utilize CNC machining skills and people skills to provide hands-on supervision of our production CNC machine operators and technicians in the programming, set up and operation of CNC machines.
 Has direct responsibility for safely maintaining the equipment and facility to support production and development needs in a low volume high demand job shop.
 Support the goals/initiatives of the company within Productivity, Quality, Operational Cost, and Safety/Housekeeping.
 This position reports to the Manager of Operations.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
 Establish and maintain safe working environment.
 Develop and plan jobs by setting priority and assigning appropriate skill level to provide a quality product.
 Communicate and implement company policies, procedures and objectives. Facilitate the flow of fact based information.
 Continuous improvement activity using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control (DMAIC) methodology or Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle.
 Recommend and implement improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
 Establish maintenance requirements for equipment and facility in conjunction with Engineering and Maintenance personnel.
 Ensure timely maintenance is performed and proper records are maintained.
 Assess employee performance, provide frequent constructive feedback to employees, and conduct performance reviews.
 Implement corrective and disciplinary action as warranted.
 Identify and implement necessary personnel training and development actions to upgrade and maintain employee skill levels to keep pace with current and future company requirements.
 Measure and manage productivity and the allocation of resources, including the control of overtime and hiring of personnel.
 Create and/or review CNC machine part programs, tooling aids, and machine set ups to ensure optimum output from resources.
 Assist Engineering in establishing process flows and resource requirements for process development and quotes.
 Maintain effective interface with other departments (i.e.; Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Customer Service) to optimize production and process improvement activity.
 Work to continuously improve in all areas such as safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.

Position Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or GED. Associate’s degree, or certificate from Trade or Technical school, or an additional three to five years production/general management experience in a production/manufacturing environment.

Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in CNC machining in a job shop, contract manufacturer, or in a production/ manufacturing environment. Experience machining high performance alloys such as Ti, SS, Inconel, Hasteloy, Haynes
Prior success in a supervisory position.

Knowledge: Knowledge of CNC manufacturing methods, techniques and related equipment. Knowledge of production scheduling and shop procedures. Knowledge of production/manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. Proficient with basic math calculations and computer skills in MS Word and Excel. Proficient with measuring tools – micrometers, calipers, height gauges, comparators and interpretation of drawings. Strong leadership skills with successful history of setting goals and leading a diverse team. Strong analytical skills for planning, forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities. Supervision skills including hiring, motivating, performance feedback, and assessment, and corrective action and discipline.

Abilities: Ability to assign and evaluate machine programs and programmers to achieve effective set ups, quality, and cycle times. Able to manage multiple priorities, and adapt to stressful and/or changing situations. Highly organized, self motivated, and able to work independently.
