Looking For A Job- around april 2009 somewhere in the northwest if possible

Hello,

My name is Dan. Currently i am in the military, but my enlistment will be ending here in the next few months. I am looking forward to being a civilian again and working in a machine/welding shop. I am working on a resume right now but i just want to know if there is any interest for someone with my experience and where the job is located.

Here is a bit of my experience,

12 years of MIG and ARC welding

8 years of TIG also 6G certified in Cobalt, Mag, Aluminum, Stainless, Titanium, Inconel,and carbon steel.

12 years of manual machining, lathe, mill (horizontal and vertical), surface grinding ETC.

6 Years of aircraft parts manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance.

5 years of Heat Treatment of metals.

5.5 years of CNC programming, Setup, and operation. (Fadal, Haas, and retrofit Mill Power mills)

2.5 Years on Haas and Bridgeport CNC lathes

1 year with a OMax water jet

3 Years of Gibbs Cam experience (mainly 2D)

2.5 Years of Feature Cam experience (2D, 3D, Solids, etc (Lathe and Mill))

I have also started to cut my teeth on Mastercam X but have not had much time to play with it.

I am a very fast learner, mostly what i know is self taught, although i have been to many formal training classes for my career that the military has paid for.

If i sound like i might be right for your company, and you might have an opening about that time please let me know. I know April is a ways away but i want to get my ducks in a row to make this transition as smooth as possible. I am on the wrong side of the border to be any use to you but that doesn't stop me giving a non-serious reply. I hope the experience you give was obtained concurrently not consecutively, it adds up to 57.5 years; even if you started real young I doubt you are that old (yet).

Ok to clairfy i started doing all of this 12 years ago so im not saying i have 57yrs exp just how long i have been doing each task since i started the trade. Sorry for the confusion

Dan, the Seattle area can be an expensive place to live. With your list of skills you would have no trouble finding work here. Before Boeing went out on strike all the shops in the area were looking for help. It may have slowed down a little but the strike won’t last forever. If you can make chips you can get work. When time gets closer you can send me a PM and I’ll connect you with the shop where I work, they are veteran friendly. These search links will help give you an idea of what’s out there.
