Looking for someone to do small AL CNC prototpyes | | Hello,
We are a company that designs lighting and related products. We need someone who can quickly, reasonably and reliably machine short-run (eg 5 to 50 pcs) prototype parts from 6061. Most of our designs end up as mass-produced parts, so they are specifically designed to be easy to machine.
A typical job will be a simple assembly of 1 to 3 parts which require a turning and/or milling operation, usually from 2.5" round stock or less. All our products fit in a 5" x 5" x5" envelope or smaller, but all can be easily and safely fixtured. Most dimensions are non-interface, so tolerances are typically +/- .005" or so. In short, small easy to cut items. One catch is that we need fast turn - 1 to 2 weeks max.
I recently met the ideal partner for us (a one-man shop / very serious hobbyist with a HAAS 4-axis mini-mill and a HAAS CNC bar feed lathe) but he is being pulled away by another big customer. I am looking for someone who is similarly equipped and very knowledgeable.
If you think this might be a fit I can send you over some current projects and we can talk more. We currently have 2 'groups' of projects that we are kicking off, and will have more periodically.
Thanks for your time!
