Job Description:[*]Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications. [*]Ability to work with assorted hand tools in close quarters. [*]Demonstrates proficiency on Multiple Spindle Machines and either Brown and Sharpe or Davenport Machines or CNC Machines. [*]Inspects or measures work, using ruler, gauges, micrometers, and calipers. [*]Able to lift up to 50 pounds to perform job duties. [*]Maintains oil for cutting and lubricants for internal parts and keeps filters and lines free of chips [*]Must be thoroughly experienced in the operation of the machine after it has been set up. [*]Operator maintains setup of machine (changing or adjusting tools if necessary). [*]Reads blueprint or job layout for product specifications, such as dimension, tolerances, and tooling instructions, and determines sequence of operations. [*]Work as team player in assisting others as needed. [*]Operates bench grinder to sharpen tools. [*]Responsible for keeping machine and work area clean at all times. [*]Knowledge of basic math such as adding, subtraction, multiplication, decimals and division. [*]Works under the direction of job Coach with instruction from other setters and instructors as required. [*]Responsible for oiling bars before loading. [*]Reports daily work hours by use of Production card. [*]Responsible for weighing and recording own parts produced. [*]Responsible for having stock replaced by Plant Services before machine runs out. [*]Turns in Production Cards at end of each shift to determine hours worked on each job. [*]Possesses a tow motor license as needed for job duties.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or GED. Minimum of 6 months pervious factory experience. Experience as a Machinist Learner is beneficial to this job. Previous 3-5 years experience required
OTHER SKILLS: Blueprint Reading, Measurement and use of gauge, calipers and micrometers.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Tow Motor License
