Below is the job announcement for a CNC operator/programmer position(s) that is now open at NASA Langley Research Center, Bld 1225. Engineering Technician (Mechanical), GS-0802-10, LA08D0247 This is a Term appointment not to exceed 13 months and may be extended beyond the initial appointment date, for a period not to exceed a total of 6 years. Under the NASA Flexibility Act of 2004, individuals appointed under this announcement may be converted to permanent appointment, either non-competitively or through internal agency competitive procedures. ANNOUNCEMENT NO. LA08D0247 POSITION: Engineering Technician (Mechanical), GS-0802-10 LOCATION: Systems Engineering Directorate OPENING DATE: July 24, 2008 CLOSING DATE: August 07, 2008 AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This announcement is open to all qualified U.S citizens. These are 13 month term appointments as Engineering Technicians serving as a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Milling Programmer/Operator, Wire Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) Programmer/Operator and/or Lathe Milling Programmer/Operator in the Most Efficient Organization (MEO), Metallic Test Articles and General and Precision Machining (MTAGPM) within the Systems Engineering Directorate, providing programming operations for milling, wire EDM and/or NC Lathe with a focus on the development of high risk contoured components for critical tasks.
