I have tried twice and failed miserably so far and now I am flustered and willing to buy the billet I need for my sprocket instead of trying to machine another billet. I am trying to get a mild steel billet that is 4.064 cm in diameter and 2.032 cm inside diameter or for English measurements 0.9 inch inside diameter and 1.6 inch outside diameter I need this sometime before the end of July and as cheap as possible. |

| I forgot to add the length, it should be three inches long. I do not have a dimensional drawing for it and it will not need a key way since I have a broach, I could supply the chunk of bar stock if need be. I know this is a very simple part and I should be able to do it but with a crapsman caliper that is over 15 years old thats been dropped several times and requires rezeroing frequently I can't do it. Also if your on the east coast it would be cheaper for shipping both to and from which I will pay for. |

| Hi blackdoggy, 0.9" is 2.286cm, or as you should define it 22.86mm, not 2.032cm or 20.32mm. Centimetres are carpenters measurements, while millimetres are reserved for engineers, and two decimal places for millimetres in the Metric system is adequate for most engineering purposes, ie .01mm is roughly 1/2 a thou imperial. | I am located here in Va. I am not looking for so much as a tube but a sleeve that I can broach a key way into. This part will have a sprocket reamed out for this part to be heat fitted on to and then reamed to fit a shaft on a small engine. I am starting to think the 39$ lovejoy style connector might be worth it with all of this grief I have been getting out of my measuring instruments and machines. |
