Kelly Services is currently recruiting for Machinist III positions for one of our customers in the Fairfield, NJ area. The candidate we seek will be able to work on a 3rd shift operation, and have a minimum of 5 years prior experience. There are multiple positions.

The person(s) we seek to represent will be responsible for simple to complex set-ups and operation of CNC equipment, editing of programs, tooling maintenance, training of employees and ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards. May be responsible to operate CMM.

The person should have the ability to perform simple to complex set-ups and operation of conventional, special-purpose, and computerized numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts and fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machineability of materials, and layout techniques. Can do multi-tasking with several set-ups on running 3-4 machines at one time. Consistency in performance. This person should be able to study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.

Additionally, the candidate should calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow and enter command to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media; observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of'tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Fit and assemble parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools, and power tools.

EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent.

SKILLS: 5-8 years CNC machining experience. CNC programming or experience preferred with ability to edit programs. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly. Ability to read blueprints. Knowledge of GD&T. Complete knowledge of G-codes. Ability to be a team player. Ability to mentor others.
