I need a large part scanned in Reno, NV

I have a part I would like to scan. 8'*36"*16". It dosn't need to be that accurate +/-1/16" and the scan can be manually operated for general cross sections. I would like to generate a data file with X,Y,Z for imput into a cad package. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Jason,

We have a portable FARO Arm inspection device with an 8' range. However, we are in Ohio. We have gone onsite to inspect things. Also, we have had customers ship in large items for scanning. Can you ship the item or is it too heavy?

    Jason,

Have you tried contacting Hood, B+J, Remarc, or any of the other shops in Reno/Sparks to see who has a CNC mill with a probe? The 8ft would be a problem for most, but if you could 'step it' in 2 segments that would reduce it down to 4ft or maybe 3rds?

Somebody in Reno/Sparks/Carson/Moundhouse/Minden has reverse engineering!

Michael Shields at JLM in Sparks would be a good person to ask. He's been extremely helpful for me.
