Frank,

What type of laser? CO2, YAG, etc.? Do you have 4th axis engraving capability? Thanks.

Not familar with the laser/engraver. How deep will it cut? We stamp a logo into 3/4" wide steel handles, have them polished, then chrome plated. Had a problem with 60 handles, so the plating and logo were removed. This made the handles thinner and rounded the edges. Because of the pressure, they cannot be restamped or CNC engraved as they rock side to side and the edges of the logo become distorted when trying to CNC engrave, plus other problems arise when stamping. I want to salvage them, and was thinkig about laser engraving but do not have a engraver to do this. The logo needs to be 0.015 deep. Is it possible with your machine?

Probably not. My laser is a Co2 laser and does not mark metals directly. It will go through most coatings on metals but that would be it. I can use cermark to mark on stailness, aluminum etc with a black mark.

I have a Vytek FX2 Laser with a 24x36 table that I use alot to Engrave Wood, Granite, Glass and some metals, The Laser will engrave whatever you want to put on the part but it won't have a .015 depth which is probably a draing spec that you have to go by. It will however, engrave in black any scheme or design that you have on the part by using a burning agent along with the laser.
If you would like to send me a sample part or like material I will gladly engrave a sample for you at no charge.
Send it to:

Frank,

I don't have a .dxf file... but I could use some help. I am making a clock for my brother in law (It was supposed to be for Christmas, but I ended up in the hospital) and I need the numbers 1-12 in a certain font. I have the font file (for windows, easy to load into system). Can you PM me if this seems like something you could do? (and for more info on the size of numbers, etc)

Hey Frank,

I don't know if you've heard of this, but a neat new business is making stainless steel business cards. I've been thinking of having some done, but most places want a minimum order of at least 200 bucks. I'd like to see and feel what they are like before I go investing a whole lot. I could use some name tags to match as well. Can your machine do a sheet of something like this? I'm not sure what the cost of Stainless Steel is anymore, so let me know what the materials would be as well. Thanks

Ross
