i guess what i mean is these guys are posting print in this fourm that requires A program to read DXF. i don't have that. i need something to read this format.

I can't imagine a CAD software that can't inport/ read .dxf files , what are you using ?, I believe even the free version of ALibre can, maybe someone that is using Alibre will verify that here.

Arty, If you just need a viewer, Solidworks provides eDrawings viewer for free. It opens DWG and DXF files.

There are alot of demo programs that will let you read DXF, Iges and many other files. Try something like Bobcad's free demo. It imports pretty well.
