RFQ - Need spacer made

attached is a drawing for carb spacer that i want for my car. the material is phenolic plastic and i have it on hand and will send it to the person the contract gets awarded to. the peice is 12x12 and i would like 5 spacers cut from it. i have also attached a proposed layout, but feel free to lay it out on your own. again please quote only machining time for these 5 spacers. and just like everyone says, there may be repeat business depending on how these go. all tolerances are +/- 0.005

thanks

Jerry

Ken,

good question, its 1/2" thick. if the initial five are cost effective enough, then i may make another set with a slightly different material, although that one is 6"x36"x1/2".

Use waterjet.
Cutting cost will be < $5/part plus setup and programming.
Phenolic is a fibre resin material, easy to machine but somewhat abrasive (depending on the grade). VERY MESSY and stinky if machining.
Unless you get a local person it will probably cost more to ship your material than to just have it supplied.

i have no problem with someone supplying the material and companies that do waterjet cutting are more than welcome to respond to the RFQ.

thanks

I seriously doubt your walls would be straight with waterjust cutting.

Even with 10 year old waterjet that material will have VERY straight walls.

6" thick would probably show some kerf.

Ok. I've just seen some angles on aluminum and titanium, obviously harder materials.
