Hello! I am currently working on a jewelry box for an amazing friend of mine. She has changed my life so I am going to pay her back. I am in the midst of building this box and am really in a bind for this inlay I want to put in the lid. Almost all my manual methods are useless as the preciseness is far above what i can freehand.
I have included a picture of the box, and specifically the lid which I would like to have two inlays cut out. (The inlays themselves and the holes they are sitting in) And they need to fit precisely together (press fit preferrably) so they can be sanded smooth.
The lid and the K is made of Ribbon Sapele (mahogany relative) and the snowflake will be out of birdseye maple. The overall width of the lid (from flat side to flat side) is approx 10in. and from point to point it is about 11.5in. i think. If I can get a reasonable quote, I will cad a much nicer snowflake, this isn't a final design.
I plan on building my own CNC router but have no funds or time yet. If someone would be willing to do this for me (i can pay) would be awesome. I will provide the wood and would like to do it locally (+/- 50 miles from cincinnati) but will ship too for the right price.
