Motorcycle Mirror Mounts

Hello!

Sweet forum you guys have here; tons of great info and lots of cool members here.

Anyway, I'm working on a project right now to adapt a set of mirrors from one brand of motorcycle to another brand. I was hoping to get some quotes for the new mirror mounts that I need machined. I've attached a DXF file that has the CAD drawing of the mounts.

Description of the mount: On the base of the mount, there are three holes. The two outer holes is where the bolts will go to secure the mount to the motorcycle. The center hole will allow the wiring for the built in turn signals to go from the mirror stalk to the bike. On the top of the mount is a 5/16" hole that will need to be tapped out to 3/8" with 16 threads per inch.

Not sure what's completely involved with CNC machining, but I hope the DXF file and my crapping description is enough to get an accurate quote. I'm looking at getting at least 10 pair of mounts made; maybe as many as 20 or 30 (depending on price).

Thanks for your guys' time.

~Tim

Just sent you a PM.

And to add further info to this thread, I don't know why I said 10 pair. It's more like 25 pair. Also, I will be having the mounts powdercoated locally.

Talking mounts

hello, would you be willing to post a pdf of the parts you'd like quoted?

Hmm. I'm at work right now, but once I get home, I'll see what I can do about the file formats.

Well, here's the file in a DWG format.

I'll have to talk to my friend about getting it in a PDF format. We were using his computer since he knows how to use AutoCAD. I'll have him send me the file in a PDF format.

I do have a dwf/dxf viewer, so I took some screenshots of the mount. Hope that helps.

Tim,
Nothing ever easy

Would you be able to export that into .igs, .stp, .sldprt or .3dm ?

Thanks
Ken

.IGS or .SLDPRT file would be great for a solid/surface part like this one

Thanks!
