can anyone make this part or suggest who can? I need 2 internal key ways cut 54" long, I am open to any method of manufacturing. the material is 673 manganese bronze OD is 3.750" the ID is 2.875" the slots are .755 wide and .187" deep. the slots are 180 degrees apart. I will send prints to anyone who thinks they can do this. quality and being able to repeat it are more important than price. Last edited by Milt; 08-31-2007 at 07:35 PM. |

| There's a place that has modified a wire edm to make extrordinarily long cuts. There name is adron edm. I've never done business with them so I cannot speak of their service or craftsmanship. Sometimes when we need pieces like this we will cut smaller thickness cuts on a regular size edm and pin them together. Say four 13.5" pieces stacked to equal 54 inches. |

| sounds like you need someone with a broaching machine. we used to do some in house, but i think we got rid of the machine. not sure what the travel is on the broaching machines though. this would probaby be your cheapest way to do it. if you can find someone. good luck |

| The best bet is to find a shop with a long broach which will have no problem holding tolerance or cutting that length . Call your local tooling distributor salesman and ask if they know anyone with a long travel broach, there are usually a few specialty shops in every city that will have them. |
