    RFQ: 1020 lathe work

    three seperate pieces need quoting. short runs of 10 pieces each. we are currently getting each piece for $4. can you beat it?

    you could use 1.25" stock and just machine the length and innher taper on this one. inner taper would be nice at +- .001

    do u have a material vendor that has 1020? im having a hard time finding this (I looked at speedy metals and mcmaster carr). could this be made out of 1018 instead?

    most metal houses carry 1018/1020 steel standard. you can quote for 4130 if you would like.
