hi every one, first day on the forum (as a registered member) and i am looking for advice . I build electric guitars and basses in my shop in rimrock az. I think the time has come to look to out source the shaping of the bodies and necks using cnc routers , at first i thought of buying a small cnc and trying to learn to do it myself . but it took so long to learn what I'm doing now. I think It's best if I out source. so what first ? put everything on paper find a production shop ? I'm not shure how to begin . I made 30 instruments last year and would like to sell more . the cnc option would increase my consistency and my sales . help , nelson joyce |

| Nelson draw it out in 2d ,put in all dimensions and fax(for quote) to all the local machine shops and any hi tech wood working shops in your area. Don,t waste your time faxing it off to some big corporate mold maker or any company that is niche specific. Some sign shops might be able to do it too. |

There are many good Small / One or Two Men Shop / Suppliers in these forums that will give you a quality product @ most economical pricing! good luck on your project, rest assured that you can find a qualified and reliable supplier here just as you can locally, I make this statement with all due respect to ZipSnipe! I look forward to looking @ your RFQ if you decide to post it here! thanks

The orders just don't fall off a tree OR come knocking on my door and I most definitely can't just pull them out of my ass, so yes, I will most definitely quote this RFQ and any others if the opportunity presents its self! thank you all for following this thread as it unfolds!

| Hey AMW I wish you success in your business and here,s a bit of advice I would call every big company in your town and speak directly to either maintenance or the machinist dept. and see if they have work overload or stuff they don,t wanna do. We do stuff for a customer and they have a full machine shop inhouse, Example " I just drilled and tapped 4 holes in a 1" plate for a mold 45 minute job thier cost about $150-200" why they didn,t do it inhouse gets me.,As for Nelson I was just thinking he wanted something close in his neighborhood. |
