**Drawings attached to post #7** I've got a small job that I'd like some quotes for. It's quite simple, and after the initial prototype, I may consider ordering a batch (30-50 more). Mike Last edited by gravydrive; 06-05-2007 at 04:57 PM. |

| Yes, just one to start. So a quote for just the one piece, and if possible, a quote for another 40. As far as the material goes 6061 should do, but 7075 is preferred. Quotes for both would be nice, but I don't want to make this too complicated. I don't have a preference on the finish, you can just pull it off the machine and chuck it in a box with my name on it. The tolerance on the edges doesn't matter much, maybe +-1/64", but the two drilled holes on top (the thinner piece) need to be fairly accurate to insure proper mating with another part. Thanks, Mike |

| Alright, I have some drawings. They are drawn in scale, their intended use is only for a quote: very slight changes may be made down the road, and some of the measurements depend on the thickness of the aluminum being used (which will be decided once a specific company is given the job. I also have a related project that I'd like to see if I get someone for. I need some laser cutting done on fiberglass (G10 material, I will ship this to whoever takes the job). This drawing is more or less what needs to be done, but there will be 4 holes (2 of these countersunk) that need to be drilled (I don't have the exact distances, I'll update the drawing once I get them, should anyone express interest). These drawing are just aerial views. The aluminum plates should be ~2mm, and the fiberglass is 1/16". After looking at the drawings, and comparing them to the above picture, you'll notice the spacer between the two plates is missing. This is because I don't know the standard sizes for aluminum square rods. Currently, I have the dimensions correct for an 8mm rod. I can change this to suit whatever materials are readily available. The spacer will be ~1cm long, with tapped (to suit M3 screws), drilled holes on either end. Email me at gravydrive@aol.com if you have any questions, or if I need to revise anything.
