I'm trying to build a 60' aluminum spiral staircase on a budget, because its for my parents retirement house. I have all the 1/4 3003 diamond plate i can use that i bought at scrap price. but I need a center pole of 8-12" diameter. I could have it rolled if i can find someone with a 10ft+ roller, then i could seam weld it and splice it together which would look match the steps. or would it end up costing me just as much as buying the aluminum pipe?
