Ability to complete complex assignments. Problem solving, resolve unusual, nonstandard problems. Ability to fabricate high precision parts. Must be capable of working from verbal instructions, sketches, or detail drawings. Proficient blueprint reading is required. Highly motivated individual who will be responsible for meeting approved estimates for machined work. Must be skilled in the operation of all shop equipment including, including CNC lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, jig bore equipment, EDM WIRE, EDM Sinker, etc. Versatility to work on a variety of projects and types of equipment. Maintain good work attendance. Desire: Minimum 15 years experience as a CNC Machinist preferred. Experience with Mitsubishi FX-10,FA-20 and Programming using ESPRIT Cad Cam. Experience with Fadal VMC and/or Virtual Gibbs, Unigraphics CAM Systems. Experience with bridgeport EZ track SX. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician, and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. Maintenance technician with 10+ years progressive experience in the maintenance of CNC and manual machine tools. Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems on mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, waterjet, press brakes, band saws, shears, rollers and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) machines. Must have extensive knowledge of CNC controls to include Fanuc and Bridgeport. Use of PC in the generation of reports and generation of scheduled maintenance is essential. Desire: Factory trained maintenance technician with heavy emphasis on CNC mills and lathes. Technician should be knowledgeable in the logic structure of the controls and be able to set parameters as required. Working knowledge of TPM and 5S lean manufacturing processes. Will: Lead all scheduling and tracking of the preventative maintenance program for Section 375, Mechanical Fabrication Engineering, using Cribmaster maintenance software. Must be capable of working from engineer sketches and detailed drawings using a variety of materials; capable of fabricating parts from flat pattern development; able to program break and punch presses holding close tolerances in finished parts; skilled in operations of all shop tools; computer knowledge a must. Ability to work various shifts and hours as required to meet schedules. Experience in Mechanical/Electromechanical Assembly, Clean Room Environment during Assembly, Test and Launch operations; handling Flight Hardware and all associated procedures; ability to understand and read blueprints; ability to follow Lead Technicians and Spacecraft Engineers directions; good communication skills; proven track record for excellent attendance and promptness. Technicians must be able to work flexible and extended hours, odd hours, 2nd and 3rd shifts, and overtime and weekends as needed. Support for operations at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) may also be requested. Desire: Minimum 8 years experience as a prototype sheet metal fabricator. Ten (10) years experience in Mechanical/Electromechanical Assembly. Multi-talented person with some or all of the following skills: prototype electromechanical devices assembly, working knowledge of electronics for setting up testing of devices, working 100-10,000 clean room, ability to work with different solvents on a daily basis, working experience with CNC tools, proven ability to follow government specs to apply special thermo paints, conform to AQMD regulations, and working experience with hydraulic systems (i.e. structural test frames, actuators, operations and maintenance of multi-channel load maintainers). Be able to travel on assignments for periods up to 6 months. Willing to be a team member following precise directions given by supervision. Will: Work in the development of prototype and flight hardware. Will assemble and support testing of mechanical devices. Work with engineers and teams, complete ad-hoc assignments given by supervision, work overtime as required. Work on a variety of tasks concurrently. Qualified Flight Technician Specialists will teamwork with JPL employees in the assembly and disassembly of mock-ups, prototype and flight spacecrafts. Previous experience working in an MRP environment. Knowledge of local manufacturing vendors. Ability to take verbal and incomplete design elements and recommend to engineering personnel solutions in the manufacture of prototype hardware. Familiar with JPL procurement/timekeeping policies and procedures. Will: Perform manufacturing engineering functions for the development of mechanical hardware. Establish and maintain interfaces with multiple JPL customers. Collaborate with cognizant engineers/customers on hardware design features to improve manufacturability. Will support the process of locating, evaluating, and establishing new vendors as a laboratory resource in fabrication. Plan, initiate and monitor hardware fabrication activities. Participate in "Make or Buy" decisions, interface with outside vendors. Will utilize multiple modules in the Oracle Discrete Manufacuring suite of programs, to develop the implementation plan for the work, estimate WIP, the technical progress of the work and resolve any technical, cost or schedule issues as they arise. Keep a work schedule between 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.plus overtime if authorized, adhering to strict attendence guidelines. Attend weekly Manufacturing Engineers group meetings. |

| There seems to be a lot of work in California. Too bad it's so damn expensive to live there. They'd have to pay 6 figures for me to think about considerng it...

| affordable, in the big cities like kansas city, saint louis. probably comparable to any major city in the midwest. lot's of good jobs in the kc area. as far as the rest of the state goes, its cheap to live here, low taxe's, gas is 2.10 a gallon today. oh yeah i live in the boonies, ya know where the hoot owl's do obscene thing's to chickens. |

| James I know Richard said mark it as Gibbs, But I think you can put Mastercam Exp. We are expecting a PO soon as I know for a seat or to.
