| Actually I have a good paying job and my job is not a problem for me as I am allowed to be creative which is something some employers don't encourage because they have always done things a certain way and it worked so they quit looking for new or better solutions, such as new tool technology for example. I am currently working in the medical industry and it offers a lot of challenges, special machines, really difficult materials, and the such.. In areospace I ran into a lot of unrealilistic ideas but I think it is more in the way that design engineers do things now more than anything,, Take solid modeling,,, excellent tool I use it my self, but it does come up with some really impractical machining requirements,, Like putting a .06 radius three inches down in the bottom of a two inch pocket with a lofted surface... Yes it can be done but practical,, not really and definitely not cost effective.. And not really the designers fault, he just created it,, he doesn't have to build it. I like engineers but some of them can be pretty hard headed,, as programmers, and machinist,, You have to build a good enviroment that ideas and problems can be disscussed and delt with openly,, I have gotten some pretty good ideas from the most unlikley of places.... |

if you look at my post i quoted and answered to the question that started this post and was in reference to nothing more, i work with a lot of the work noone else wants to or can t do ,and over the years ive seen people cave on imposible ideas and come back to a sence of reality after talking to the people that are making the parts |

no biggy ,i tend to do that to people i think its hard to find good programmers or machinists at this point of time ,the job market is pretty open right now (at least here), anyone thats good has a job and is being payed to stay there , we can t find people who are fully qualified , even partially qualified would be a start |

| it is hard to find good people here period,, nobody wants to take the time to learn a trade skill anymore,, and the schools that they do have down here are just pumping out diplomas,, don't get me wrong there are some really talented people out there, but for the most part they are taken. Where are you at anyway,, I am just curious about the job markets out of southern california as I would like to leave here.... |
