man thats gonna cost ... brass not cheap .. program/setup time not short ...

probably several US dollars per part .

Quotes are significantly higher than several US dollars but as you rightly say that is to be expected (and it's also within the budget allocated for this part) as the part will require numerous setups and because of the choice of material, however on the plus side programming time should be short - easily less than one hour.

Also within the next few weeks we will also have two other similar designs that will need to be manufactured , they are similar but slightly more involved.

The 45 day lead time is going to be tough. 4000 parts at just 5 minutes each, to saw, machine, deburr, pack & ship, is 20,000 minutes, or 333.33 hrs, which = 41.6 days at 8 hrs a day. Is the lead time critical?

45 days is the ideal lead time however is it not critical so is negotiable
