Hi Guys;
We’re a small company that does cable-rig cameras for network television over professional sporting events (think SkyCam – similar thing).
We’re looking for a machinist or small machine shop in the Austin, Texas area to work with us on some new equipment - remote camera heads, gimbals, cable spoolers, and that sort of thing.
It’ll have to be someone who will work with us to develop parts from our top-level drawings and designs.
I’m not talking about back-of the napkin sketches here. I’m an electrical engineer, and I’ve got a mill in my garage, so I know you can’t make parts without information. But that being said, we’re never going to provide drawings with every detail of each motor mounting clamp and bearing, and we need someone who’s comfortable doing some second-level design work.
I had some wonderful guys in Los Angeles, but I’m based in Austin now, and it’s geographically awkward to work closely with them, so I’m trying to find someone who’s at least in central Texas.
It’s not a huge amount of work, but it should be reasonably steady and we’d be a good client for a machinist doing freelance work or a small shop.
(And if you happen to be a football fan, yes, we can get you into at least some of the games)
If anybody’s interested, please give me a call at (407) 406-4447 or e-mail me at
