    Preferred file for RFQ

I am needing to post a RFQ for parts but I need to know which is the preferred file. I just tested a dxf and the dimensions will not transfer. These are 2d drawings done in Bobcad but I have them saved in Rhino which can export many different kinds of files. Which is best for posting here?

Try using a zip file if you can not use Adobe Acrobat. Take the file and use winzip or any other program like it to comress the file before sending (it may just be too large). Personally I like solids such as step or iges.

Thanks guys. I will be posting the files in a few minutes. These are simple parts so I will post dxf files and try to keep from doing 3d if I can.

    Mike,
Anything but .PDF, That seems so popular but it is not a CAD format, at least not that I am aware of. Anyone can open it seems to be it's only positive characteristic in regards to CAD files.

If one has the capability to export in solids or surfaces along with the rest that would be very handy, then include them all in a zip file as tjones suggested or separately if necessary.

    Thanks for asking, good thinking.

    Hey Ken,

I posted plain dxf files for now. If anyone one want a specific file I can give them anything Rhino can save.
I really don't want to have to model a 3.3" X .315" pin with an inch of knurling on it! I will if I have to but I really don't see the need.
