Small Lot of Aluminum Castings Needed

I have a part that I need cast from Aluminum.

The qty. is 15-20 parts (possilby repetitive orders).

Attached are some sample pictures of what I need. I have not drawn the part in AutoCadd yet, what I am looking for is:

    1. Is there anyone that can do small orders (and keep the price low). A rough quote based from the pics. and dimensions listed below.
    2. Is it cost effective to cast the part rather then bending aluminum and welding.

The part is cast from Aluminum, Measures 19" Long x 6" Wide and 5" Tall. The part can be as cast, I can do the machining that is required.

NOTE: The Cap Shown in the Picture Is Welded to the Casting, It Is NOT Cast Into the part.

The part is a valve cover for a 4cylinder engine.

    Thanks for your time.

    casting rfq

I might be able to help.
What is the wall thickness, and would the part still work with a thicker wall?
    Is the material alloy critical?
    Thanks,
    -Mark

Wall thickness is approx. 0.0600, a thicker wall thickness will be fine (I just need to make the part as light as possible.

Any aluminum alloy (or combination will work). The part is only a cover to keep oil inside. Other then the bolt holes for clamping there is no stress on the part.

    Thanks

Is this a part I can find in the junk yard? If so I can build-up a pattern, set gating, risers, runners etc to figure the complexity of the casting.
If it is not a scrap item, do you think it might be possible to get a chance to borrow the original to get the dimensions etc, or would you rather make a few detailed drawings with limits figured?
    Thanks,
    -Mark

I can send you a sample of the part (the orignal is a sheet metal stamping). What I am looking for is a estimate for the part, so I we can see if it worth pursuing.
