    Small Milled Plate Needed Qty. 20

    I am looking for a RFQ for the following part.

    Plate Is Made from 1018 Steel; Clear Anodize (Please quote seperately)
    Qty. 20 pcs.

    Please PM the quote to me. Also we are looking for the work to be done with in the US.

    how soon do u want them
    and i cant do the anodizing...
    also i dont think you can anodize steel
    you can poweder coat it but not anodize
    either way i dont have access to do either
    plus do you have the actual cad file

    You are going to have to spec another finish. Anodizing is not possible on steel.

    Do you mean clear (silver) zinc?

    You might think about waterjet or laser cutting this. Good shops should be able to hold +/- .005"

    I wasn't aware of the anodizing of steel, until earlier today.

    On the water jet, I thought the same thing, but the guy around here wanted way too much to cut these parts on the water jet. I can get them cut out on the mill cheaper then he would cut them on the water jet.

    On the lead time, I don't need them tomorrow but I need by the beginning of next year.

    Laser sounds like the way to go. Shops in this neck of the woods charge around $0.07 per inch of cut (depending on the shop) plus programming and material. For 20 pieces, this is the way I would recommend.

    I know this is and RFQ and my post is of little assistance but it seemed relevant considering you had mentioned water jet cutting.
