Heavy Industries (heavyworld . com) is looking for a CNC Operator to be a part of our milling department, producing complex 3D forms through CNC technology and other machinery for a variety of projects.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Setting up and operating CNC milling and plasma equipment
• Setting up and operating 3D laser scanning and foam cutting equipment
• Working from provided 3D models to produce physical parts
• Working from provided shop and engineer drawings
• CNC programming and toolpathing of both 2D and 3D files (based on skill level)
• Adhering to production schedules and having an ability to proactively adapt resources to meet timelines
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and coordination of repairs with technicians
• Adhering to existing procedures for documentation of equipment use, maintenance, and safety requirements
• Inspecting for the quality control of all machined parts
• Communicating required parts and materials to the purchasing department in an organized fashion
• Keeping the milling department clean and organized at all times
• Performing other related production tasks to keep projects on track

You’ll best succeed in this role if you have:
• Familiarity with construction or custom fabrication processes
• Certification in CNC machining or a closely related field, or adequate portfolio to support your
experience
• Considerable experience working with CNC equipment including 3 and 4 axis milling machines or routers
• An understanding of computer assisted drafting and manufacturing principles and associated software; experience using Rhino, SolidWorks, or other CAD/CAM software
• Proficiency reading and interpreting shop drawings
• Strong understanding of machine diagnostics and G-code operation an asset
• Strong computing skills
• Solid communications and organizational skills
• Flexibility for occasional weekend and evening work
