CEi seeks 4 CNC Machinist II for our Sacramento, CA office. Positions are day, swing, and grave shifts.
Position will perform machining tasks as directed by their supervisor utilizing the CNC Vertical Milling Center (main responsibility), Bridgeport Mill, Engine Lathe and CNC Lathe as well as other Machine Shop support equipment (i.e. grinder, belt sander, cold saw, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
Updates set-up and tooling sheets as required, maintaining the VMC logbook for shift turnover, documenting travelers and Discrepant Materials
Report (DMR).
Basic programming (“G” codes).
Supports and exhibits the focus of zero defects as well as right-the-first-time attitude.
Inspects work utilizing basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, depth gage, etc).
Sets up and oversees Machine Operators as required during post machining runs.
Provides suggestions or advice to maximize the efficiency of Machine Shop.
Maintains a clean work area and ensures strict adherence to the 5S Standards.
Accurately adjusts machine settings to complete tasks according to specifications.
Uses various machine shop support equipment including Saws, Belt Sanders, Grinders, Overhead Cranes and Drill Press.
Follows FOD (foreign object prevention) practices.
Complies with established safety directives.
Complies with established QMS procedures.
Works under limited supervision.
Typical Qualifications:
Five years of hands on experience in a CNC Machine Shop. Experience with aircraft machined parts a definite plus.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures involving CNC machines.
Knowledge of cutters and effective use of cutters for maximum efficiency.
Must have their own basic hand tools required for meeting the duties and responsibilities of a machinist.
Familiarity with a variety of materials including 6061, 7075, composites a plus.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement techniques beneficial.
Ability to create, edit and save (familiarity with PC a must) various programs on an “as needed” basis. Knowledge of the Fadal / Fanuc and HAAS controllers a plus. 4th and 5th axis a plus.
Communicate in English both written and verbally.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints & drawings.
Must be able to demonstrate accurate basic math skills.
Solid understanding of fractions and decimals.
Ability to comprehend geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Mastercam experience a plus.
