About the Opportunity

Volant Products has sustained rapid growth, recently moving into a brand new 84,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant with new state of the art equipment. They are seeking several CNC Machinists to join their team in Edmonton, Alberta

Volant’s manufacturing plant runs a two shift operation Monday through Thursday, with day shift operating from 6am-4:30pm and the evening shift from 4pm-2:30am. Overtime is frequently available on Fridays and weekends

In this key role, the CNC Machinist will be required to program, setup and perform machining operations based on production requirements and engineering drawings.

More specifically, you will:

* Write/Edit CNC programs;
* Plan, select and load tooling to machine parts;
* Operate CNC equipment to machine parts to engineering drawings and specifications;
* Troubleshoot problems with equipment and program;
* Perform and document product inspections as detailed in the inspection plans;
* Conduct and document daily equipment maintenance; and
* Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.

To qualify, you will be a Journeyman Class CNC Machinist, with programming and setup experience. Applicants with previous experience on Mazak equipment will be given preference.

This full time role requires individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, as well as experience operating 5 and 6 axis equipment. Above all, Volant is seeking motivated, creative, team players who value skill, honesty and fairness in the workplace.
