SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, machining and or fabrication and tooling. Supports new programs by developing new processes and assisting with the designing of tooling and machinery and development of production controls.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develop and maintain programs for CNC machine tools such as multi axis mills, lathes, EDM’s and lasers with a primary focus on Willemin machining centers.
• Develop manufacturing processes for new products and in -house applications including but not limited to gages, jigs, tooling and fixtures.
• Design or help in the design of jigs, tools, fixtures, and special equipment for CNC applications.
• Evaluate current programs and manufacturing methods for opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency and throughput.
• Implement strategies for continuous improvement that focus on reducing set-up / cycle time, improve quality, efficiency and consistency of manufacturing methods to reduce overall manufacturing costs.
• Assist quality engineers and operators with the validation of new or revised programs and processes.
• Maintain the integrity of CNC programs and the DNC file system.
• Communicate and work effectively with internal and customer sales, marketing, quality, manufacturing and development team members.
• Assist systems designers, hardware specialists and software specialists with the introduction of new technologies and computer advancements into the manufacturing process.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES: Support manufacturing process in varying capacities as required. Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED required. Additional technical training preferred
• General machining background with the addition of 5+ years experience in full 5 axis CNC machining and programming utilizing Unigraphics, Gibbs CAM or Master CAM; medical device or aerospace industry experience preferred.
• Experience with CAD such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, Unigraphics.
• Working knowledge of cutting stainless steels, titanium, and cobalt chrome required.
