Redford based manufacturer seeks experienced Product Metallurgist. The ideal candidate would assume the day-to-day responsibility for working with the sales group and manufacturing departments on technical matters and concerns with suppliers and customers with metallurgy expertise. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: - Responsible for technical projects as assigned. - Responsible for metallurgical/technical matters for all products from input qualification and selection through forging, heat treat, testing, and certification; as assigned. - Responsible for assisting and advising sales in preparing quotes, developing manufacturing processes, MIP’s and ITT’s, and process control during manufacturing. d - 5 years experience in the field of metal manufacturing and materials required. - Specific knowledge of open die forging and seamless rolled ring operations. - Broad experience with ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. - Heat Treat knowledge important. - Testing background helpful B.S. degree in Metallurgy Engineering preferred
