POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting internal R&D machining requests using both traditional and CNC machine tools. Typical tasks will consist of unique fixture design and fabrication to secure flexible plastic models followed by precision machining based on 3D CAD data. Modifications using hand tools will also be required for certain tasks. Coordination with outsourcing facilities may also be required for certain requests. Further responsibilities will include maintaining both machines and workplace to ensure a safe and efficient facility.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years experience post apprenticeship machining trade
• Competent traditional and CNC machine operation skills
• Effective communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to interpret blueprint/drawings
• Ability to take initiative and responsibility in a team environment
• Capable of working under pressure to meet timeline objectives
