Position Summary: (Brief summary of primary responsibilities)

This position is responsible for the creation and organization of all CNC machine tool programs, utilizing Mastercam and/or Solidworks. Analyzes drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates. Senior CNC programmer is responsible for department workflow, metrics and continuous improvement projects. Senior CNC programmer will also be responsible for monitoring new trends/processes in the industry.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum 10 years machining experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 5 years CAD/CAM experience, preferred experience in Mastercam
Prior 5 Axis experience highly desirable
A thorough understanding of all manufacturing processes and procedures, applicable to areas of responsibility
A thorough understanding of GDT
Ability to read, write and fully understand machine “G” code
Excellent communication skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
High School education
General PC computer skills
Speak, read, and write fluent English
Ability to lift 50 pounds

 Create efficient and error free CNC programs.
 Design fixturing and provide drawings when necessary.
 Design and/or order special tools required.
 Ensure through the process, all customer specific job requirements are met on new product and repeat jobs.
 Update process traveler, when necessary, prior to release to production floor.
 Provide required documents for machine set-up (set-up sheet, visual drawings, etc.).
 Transfer/Receive programs to shop DNC station.
 Catalog/Organize all programs/set-up sheets in main server.
 Observe operation of machine on trial run to prove programmed instructions.
 Perform all job duties and functions in compliance with the company safety standards.
