Machining Engineer
Our global, Fortune 500 aerospace manufacturing client is looking to fill a direct hire position for a Machining Engineer
The Machining Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.
Primary Function: To create machined product in the most timely, cost-efficient, customer-authorized and drawing specific manner.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Creates CNC machining programs.
• Creates time lines for part completion.
• Schedules machining
• Proves and edits machining program.
• Creates machining techniques.
• Establishes feeds and speeds for tools.
• Develops and implements new tooling methods.
• Researches tooling and purchases tooling.
• Designs model fixturing, jigs, and other devices.
• Works with outside vendors to have model fixturing externally quoted and machined.
• Makes decisions within broad limitations.
Minimum Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or over 10 years of training or experience.
• Able to work in a production environment
• Able to read and comprehend English.
• Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Able to apply concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and outside vendors.
• Able to write reports and business correspondence.
• Able to effectively present information to management and customers.
• Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Able to use Microsoft Office applications.
• Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures, including company’s attendance policy.
Desired Competencies:
• Able to use Mastercam programming software.
• Able to use solid modeling software, SolidWorks preferred.
Normal Working Condition:
• Works independently on broad general assignments with the responsibility for planning of work. Makes major decisions within broad limitations of policies, referring to superiors when large investment or long-term programs are involved.
• Frequent work required near moving mechanical parts, with fumes and/or airborne particles, and in areas with loud noise.
• Frequent use of hands to handle or feel, sitting, and hearing and talking required.
• Occasional standing and walking required.
