Job Description
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in programming, setting up and running CNC Mills and CNC Lathes in a fast-paced, team based environment. They will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our state of the art precision machining centers used to meet both production and rapid prototyping requirements. This position will include interacting with the day shift team to ensure continuous improvement of production and quality processes.
Knowledge and Skills:
Operation and setup of CNC milling (horizontal and vertical) and CNC Lathes
Virtual Gibbs software and manual programming
Experience with Fanuc, Haas and Fadal controls
Familiar with the operation of DNC systems
Capable of fabricating precision tools and fixturing
Experience machining tight tolerances and complex geometries
Solid understanding of mechanical design and dimensioning principles
Understanding of material properties (rates of expansion, strength, hardness) and special machining requirements
Knowledge of Lean Principles including Just in Time, and Setup Time Reduction a plus
Programming and Prototyping experience a big plus
Requirements:
The qualified candidate will have the following skills:
Minimum of 10+ years experience in a machining environment
Must have turning center and lathe experience
Ability to work independently or with a team in an efficient manner
Strong leadership skills
Strong sense of ownership and work ethic
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills is a must
