MACHINING ENGINEER

Job Title: Machining Engineer
Primary Function: To create machined product in the most timely, cost-efficient, customer-authorized and drawing specific manner.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Creates CNC machining programs.
• Schedules machining.
• Creates time lines for part completion.
• Proves and edits machining program.
• Creates machining techniques.
• Establishes feeds and speeds for tools.
• Develops and implements new tooling methods.
• Researches tooling and purchases tooling.
• Designs model fixturing, jigs, and other devices.
• Works with outside vendors to have model fixturing externally quoted and machined.
• Makes decisions within broad limitations.
Minimum Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or over 10 years of training or experience.
• Able to work in a production environment.
• Able to read and comprehend English.
• Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Able to apply concepts of fractions and percentages.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and outside vendors.
• Able to write reports and business correspondence.
• Able to effectively present information to management and customers.
• Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variable.
• Able to use Microsoft Office applications.
• Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures, including company’s attendance policy.
Desired Competencies:
• Able to use Mastercam programming software.
• Able to use solid modeling software.
