Greetings! I am posting this to see if someone could possibly produce a small part for me. I only need one. The part will be used as a pattern for vacuum forming. The finished object will be small — about 1 3/4" x 1/2". The only truly critical dimension is the concave curve that the plastic will be sucked into. The drawing shows accuracy to three decimal places. Other than the concave area, the rest of the dimensions do not need to be that exact and in fact, the dimensions can be adjusted if necessary. I have a profile that I created in Adobe Illustrator that I can provide so that this does not need to be redrawn. I can provide a spline if you let me know what format you can import. Hopefully this should primarily be a simple lathing process. After lathing (or before?), a .010" hole will need to be drilled at the center point for air to escape out of the pattern. Please let me know if this is possible and approximately how much it would cost. I am flexible about the material as long as the completed piece has a very smooth finish (in the concave area) and can withstand low heat. I look forward to your response. Thank you. Tom Sollers |
