Is it possible to make a 3-d model carving of a statue from photos? Original Statue is about 6Ft in height and made of Italian marble. I am looking to cast figuirines in poly resin but need a model to make the rubber molds. I need assistance in pricing the model, or perhaps in digital carving of a suitable mold. |

| Yes it is possible... you need photos from front, rear, right, left, top, bottom to get the whole thing, they need to be from a controlled height and with very good lighting. Your budget better be in the several thousands though, There are service beaureus that specialize in this sort of thing cause it takes a very skilled modeller a lot of time to pull it off. And if it's a human figure, details like hair and such are "very" hard to do this way. You'd probably be better off creating a knock off by hand for your mold master.

| Having it digitally scanned would work as well but very expensive. Be easier to pay an artist to carve his own rendition for you to make the mould. This still wont get you CAD though.
