Looking for a source to send some funky geometry parts, most probably within a 8" or 10" cube for size if thats a limiting factor. But in the not too distant future some larger ones will be needed. I'd prefer to get a STEP solid file from it that I can bring into my CAM to program. Maybe someone with a Faro or Roamer with the scanning option wold be ideal? Send me a note if you have this capability and I'd like to learn about the costs for this process..... Thanks Scott SC Precision - Home

What do you mean, exactly? What's the part made of, and does it have a lot of undercuts? What kind of precision do you need? Some kinds of things are a lot easier to scan than others. Why the STEP file? Can you deal with an STL file, which is a lot easier to produce from a scan? Andrew Werby ComputerSculpture.com — Home Page for Discount Hardware & Software

| Funky - well, not a lot of undercuts and such that are hidden from a laser, but mostly I meant curves and angles. Like motorcycle levers and pedals, suspension linkages..... I am not sure STL is an import option with OneCNC - will take a look. I am usually using IGS or STP....... Scott |
