CNC jobs in Australia??

Hello!

We'll, i have been dreaming about leaving Sweden and work somewhere else for a year or so.
I'm thinking about Australia, but is it easy to find CNC jobs there?
I've only been working on milling.
I have alot experience from Horizontal Moris, and abit of Mazak's.
But right now im working with a vertical mill.

I do programming on Mastercam X4, working on all types of materials, from plastic parts to Stainless..

So what would the changes be to find a job there?

Anyone who can give me links to places where i can look at jobs?
And things i should think about, i'm sure it's alot different then Swe..
Whats the average salary for this work ?

Now i need to take some more English lessons

Have you considered New Zealand? Our place is currently looking for machinists. If you find it doesn't suit you it wouldn't be much of a stretch to carry on over to Oz. Apply at www.agprice.co.nz

I should have told the whole deal/idea.
There is a rule over here, if you work 1year at one place then you can take "year off" the work.
This way i still keep my old work here..

Well even with 6 months to wait it is worth looking at the paperwork for the work visas now. I'm not sure what the deal is with Australia but there are a various types of work visas/permits to choose from.

New Zealand has a list of 'accredited' employers on their immigration website. A job offer from one of these virtually guarantees speedy processing of your application.

I opted for the 'work to residency' visa as the plan was to stay here after the work visa expired. The only criteria to meet is to work for an accredited employer for two years. Australian visa criteria may be a bit more strict.

Whatever you decide to do it will definitely be challenging but ultimately rewarding and if you can do it without burning bridges at your current employment then go for it!

I see there are no vacancies on the website but there's no harm in sending them your CV. These guys employ from all over (heck, they took me on).

I will see what the current situation is (whether they still have 'accredited' status) with our supervisors and let you know...I suggest you really scan the site (machine-shop brochure) so you know exactly what you are letting yourself in for (this is definitely NOT medical work...).

Of course, if you love fishing then you will be as happy as a maggot in dog-spew, regardless of the parts you're making!

The main thing is to get a good sense of the visa requirements/process you wish to pursue before you start. ATB.

Thank u so much DP ! ...
I've already sent a copy of my resume to HR ... And yes, I took a glance at the website but deffinetely will take a deep sink in it ....
I declare myself guilty of all charges, I just love anything that has to do with cutting chips of any sort .... anything that has to do with CNC I'd do it for free !!! ....
Best regards and thanks a lot for your feedback!
