Buy me a Beer?
RFQ: Qty 1, 4th Axis required.

I can supply an STL file, bidders must have continuous 4th axis CAM and machining capability. Part is about 8" long, 1" diameter. Material is not important, but smooth surface finish is required (will be used as a core for a rubber molding operation). Stepover at most 0.020", with a 1/32" or smaller ball end mill (lots of fine surface detailing must be captured in the machining process. Multiple passes requested to reduce visible scalloping on the machined surface).

No, it's not a dildo!

Please e-mail me at mike(at)mcpii(dot)com if you are interested in quoting, and I will supply the STL file. I would like to see references and/or previous 4th axis work you have done. Would also like to know what CAM package you will use, and what machining equipment will be used. Serious inquiries only, please (no Taigs, Sherlines, or other "play" machines, please).

I would send you a PM, but for some reason I can not open up my private messages or send anyone else a private message. What's going on, is there something wrong with the website? Did they permanently take the private messages away? Or are they just picking on me? I would like to know anyone with any information please explain.

Sorry Mike
I usually like this sort of thing but we are too busy and it is one of those jobs that will require a lot of "messing around"

All e-mails and PM's replied to. If you did not receive a response, please reply to my e-mail address above. Note, I only have this as an STL file. If your CAM program cannot run from an STL file, you cannot do this job. That said, it is not that hard a job - DareBee, sure you're not interested?

If you need a really smooth surface, an STL file is not the best way to go. You dont have it in any other format?

Nope, just an STL, but smooth enough as modeled.

No one has quoted yet, I think I will just get them SLA'd, or maybe my Dimension printer will be good enough...
