We are a large Sculpture Studio in New York. We are currently looking for a "Top of the Line" full service fabricator. Below is a basic outline of what we are looking for. We have been doing work of this sort for over ten years and are very experienced with the requirements. We have a high volume of new work and are looking to add manufacturing capacity and to work with a new fabricator. This should be a large established contractor, most probably currently working in the aerospace sector. Any suggestions or referrals are appreciated. Sculptural Fabricator Must haves: 5 axis milling Ability to mill large (60” +) parts to very fine tolerances Ability to mill very complex and detailed surfaces from high resolution polygonal data Ability to work with large (5 –15 GB) polygonal files Sample milling specs: Tool size: 2mm diameter Step-over: 0.06mm Machine tolerance: 0.02mm Machine type in use: http://www.gildemeister.com/en,milling,dmu210p Ability to Jig and Assemble large Stainless parts. Experience with Laser welding and compression fitting. Experience with mirror polishing Chromium Stainless Steel Experience with near-net casting Additional: Experience with CAD/CAM development, toolpathing and engineering. Experience with polygonal 3D modeling, design and file processing. In house stainless casting or experience sub-contracting high quality stainless steel castings Experience in high quality coating and painting General Fabrication capabilities, ie. bending, welding, etc. Extreme dedication to quality control and project oversight. Fabricator should have an interest in undertaking very demanding low volume work. All our work is done in editions of 4. We have a large amount of projects available but each is a very complicated and time consuming, requiring dedicated management and the utmost level of quality control. We understand that the projects and methodology we need are very unique and therefore are willing to assist a qualified and motivated vendor with training and additional machinery if necessary for our work. Our work is very high visibility and will gain press attention and international notice for your business. |
