Experience in Optics Diamond Point Turning, proficiency in the use of coordinate measurement machines (CMM) Machine flats using a Diamond Point Turning (DPT) flycutter and/or run a DPT lathe to produce flats, spherical and aspheric surfaces. Inspect parts on a Zygo interferometer, Talysurf profilometer, and white light interferometer. Technicians are expected to generate their own programs, set-up, run and inspect the optics produced. High school graduate or equivalent with 4-6 years experience as a machinist and/or inspection operator.
