    Need parts made....

Hi-- I'm new to this group, so bear with me.
I'm looking for a CNC shop that can make some metal parts for the wooden pennywhistles I make. Check out www.busmanwhistles.com to see what I'm talking about. Be sure to look at all of the pictures, particularly of the largest piece on the head of the whistle. I make the wooden parts on a non-CNC Sears 6" lathe and I could make the metal parts too, but it takes forever, and they're not as nice as consistent as CNC ones. Thus far, I've had a local shop make these for me and they do a great job but they do a lot of government and military contract work, so my dinky little job gets put on the back burner.
Is it OK to solicit for machine shops on this forum?
Each set of these consists of one head ferrule, two single rings, and one double ring. I use both brass and stainless steel, but I'd also like to look into bronze and copper.
BTW-- I live in the NY Capital District, so a localish shop would be especially good. I got some CAD software and was hoping to do drawings, but I' m not finding it especially easy to learn on my own! Thanks.

welcome to my ( our) world . it never ceases to amaze me the diversity of craftsmen
who populte the tinternet ,allways learning, fair lifts my spirits.
if your finding your feet with CAD ....then it's only a small jump to thinking about
your own CNC then all those ideas/concepts you have can become a reality
get to grips with a lathe then a mill ,4 axis of course.
honest ,if i can do it anyone can.
go on try the water it's lovely.

    Hey Brewerpaul,

I am not a local machinist. My shop is located in kansas. I have several cnc lathes that would would be capable of making your parts. How many sets would you require and what is the time frame. I am not sure as far as price goes since there will be shipping involved. If you will tell me approximatly what you are currently paying I sure that I can adjust my price to counteract the extra shipping cost to get you the same or possibly a lower price. If you are interested let me know. You can email me at stiggo@sbcgloabal.net

    Thank you Steve

if you need some help drawing up the parts let me know. i can do the drawing for you pretty cheaply and quickly and i can save in a ton of different formats.

i need to see the parts before i set a price though. i might be able to make you some too if you need. but again i need to see them
